The average woman working full time, year round made 78 percent of what a man with similar employment made in 2013, according to the latest data from the Census Bureau, a slight but not statistically different increase from 77 percent in 2012. There hasn’t been a significant increase since 2007.

The Cordyceps genus of fungus are parasites that take over the bodies of the insects and arthropods they attack, forcing them to take actions such as climbing a tree before dying to better spread the fungus spores. The mind-controlling fungus can’t spread to humans, but if it did, it would be the closest we get to real-life zombies: The fungi have been known to induce biting in their victims and have limited movement after the host’s death. We could all look like that infected tarantula above.
